How to choose a size

For wrists under 17 cm, a 38-39 mm Monarch or Horizon will work. From 18 cm upwards, you can go for a 40-41 mm Astra, Zenith, Nebula, or Solara. This is the most common mistake when buying a first-time watch: a case that's 3 mm too large looks completely different on the wrist than in the photo.

Automatic or chronograph

The automatic is wound by the movement of your wrist and requires no batteries—this is how the Horizon, Astra, Nebula, Solara, Skeleton, and Monarch operate. The Zenith is a mecha-quartz chronograph: it measures time with quartz, but the stopwatch is powered mechanically, so the hand returns to zero in one smooth motion.
