1. Mecha-quartz mechanism
- Celesti Zenith has a mechanism Seiko VK63 Hybrid / mecha-quartz. This means that basic timekeeping is based on a battery-powered quartz movement, while the chronograph function operates more similarly to a mechanical watch.
- In practice, this means high comfort of use, good accuracy of movement and dynamic operation of the stopwatch hand.
2. Crown and buttons
- The Zenith model has a classic crown for setting the time and date, as well as two buttons for operating the chronograph.
- The chronograph buttons are screw-on, therefore, before using the stopwatch, they should first be slightly unscrewed. After using the chronograph function, the pushers should be screwed back on.
- Locking buttons help protect the watch from accidentally starting the stopwatch and increase safety during everyday use.
3. Operating the lace
- The crown is used to set the time.
- Before setting the watch, gently pull the crown out to the desired position. Once you've finished adjusting the watch, push it back in.
- Do not use excessive force when operating the crown. Make all adjustments slowly and gently.
4. Lace positions
4.1 Position 1 - Standard Working Position
This is the primary crown position for everyday use. In this position, the watch will keep time normally.
4.2 Position 2 - Setting the hour and minutes
- Pull the crown out to the last notch. In this position, you can set the hours and minutes.
- Turn the crown until the correct time is set. Once you have finished setting, push the crown back into the starting position.
5. Chronograph Operation
- A chronograph is a stopwatch function that allows you to measure the passage of time.
- In the Celesti Zenith model, the chronograph is operated using two buttons located on the right side of the case.
- Before using the chronograph, unscrew the pushers by turning them gently until they unlock. Once you've finished measuring, screw them back in.
Top button - start / stop
- The top button is used to start and stop the stopwatch.
- Press the top button to start timing.
Press it again to stop the measurement. - You can use this button repeatedly to stop and restart the chronograph.
Bottom button - reset
The lower button is used to reset the chronograph.
After stopping the stopwatch with the upper button, press the lower button to return the chronograph hands to their starting position.
Do not reset the chronograph while it is running. Always stop the measurement with the upper button first before using the lower button.
6. Important information about the chronograph
- The large central hand on the Zenith model can function as a chronograph hand, meaning it doesn't have to move continuously during normal timekeeping.
- If the large hand remains stationary and the watch continues to show the correct time, this is normal operation of the mechanism. The hand moves when the chronograph is activated.
7. Tachymeter operation
- The Zenith model features a tachymeter scale located on the bezel. The tachymeter allows you to roughly calculate your speed based on the time it takes to cover a specific distance, most often 1 kilometer.
- To use the tachymeter:
- Start the chronograph at the beginning of the measured section.
Stop the chronograph after 1 kilometer.
Read the value on the tachymeter scale indicated by the chronograph hand. - For example: if it takes 30 seconds to cover 1 kilometer, the needle will point to a value of approximately 120 on the scale, which means a speed of approximately 120 km/h.
- The tachymeter serves an orientation function and is a functional and stylistic addition.
8. Screwing down the chronograph pushers
- When you have finished using the stopwatch, screw both chronograph pushers back in place.
- Do not tighten them excessively. They should be securely closed, but not overtightened.
- Do not operate the chronograph buttons underwater or when the watch is wet.
9. Contact with water
- Before exposing your watch to water, make sure the crown and chronograph buttons are properly closed.
- Do not operate the crown or pushers underwater or when the watch is wet. This may impair the watch's water resistance.
- After contact with seawater or chlorinated water, we recommend gently rinsing the watch with clean water and drying it with a soft cloth.
10. Adjusting the bracelet or strap
- The Zenith model is available on a steel bracelet or rubber strap.
- For steel bracelets, adjustments are made by removing or adding links. Adjustments can be made using a suitable watchmaker's tool.
- If you are inexperienced, we recommend seeking the help of a watchmaker to avoid scratching the bracelet or incorrectly assembling the links.
- The strap or bracelet should fit securely on the wrist, but not be too tight.
11. Battery
- The mecha-quartz movement is battery-powered. If the watch begins to malfunction, stops, or the chronograph operates abnormally, the battery may need to be replaced.
- We recommend having the battery replaced by a watchmaker to ensure the safety of the mechanism and proper sealing of the watch when the case is opened.
12. Storage
- When not in use, it is best to store your watch in a dry and safe place, preferably in its original box.
- Avoid leaving your watch in places exposed to high temperatures, humidity or strong magnetic fields.
13. The most important rules of use
Always close the crown and screw in the pushers after making adjustments.
Do not operate the chronograph buttons underwater or on a wet watch.
Do not reset the chronograph while it is running - stop the measurement first.
Do not change the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
Do not use excessive force when operating the crown and buttons.
Avoid strong impacts, falls and contact with chemicals.
Clean your watch with a soft microfiber cloth.
Store your watch in a dry place when not in use.
