1. Automatic mechanism
- The Celesti Astra is a mechanical self-winding watch. This means the movement winds itself when worn on the wrist.
- The movement of the hand sets in motion a rotor inside the mechanism, which stores the energy necessary to run the watch.
- If the watch hasn't been worn for a long time, it may stop. This is a completely normal occurrence with automatic watches.
- To restart the watch, you can wind it manually or place it on your wrist and move it around for a few minutes.
2. Operating the screw-down crown
- The Astra model is equipped with a screw-down crown, which increases the watch's protection against water and moisture.
- Before setting the time or date, you must first unscrew the crown. To do this, gently turn it counterclockwise until it unlocks.
- After completing the adjustment, always screw the crown back on carefully.
3. Lace positions
3.1 Position 1 - Winding the watch
- Once the crown is unscrewed, it is in the first operating position. In this position, the movement can be wound manually.
- To wind the watch, turn the crown clockwise. It is recommended to wind the watch approximately 20–30 gentle rotations.
- Do not use excessive force. If you feel any resistance, stop winding.
3.2 Item 2 - Setting the date
- Gently pull the crown out to the second stop. In this position, you can set the date.
- Turn the crown slowly until the correct date appears in the date window.
- It is not recommended to change the date in hours 21:00–3:00, as the mechanism may be automatically preparing to change the date during this time. Adjustments during this time period may affect the correct operation of the date display.
3.3 Position 3 - Setting the hour and minutes
- Pull the crown out to the last notch. In this position, you can set the hours and minutes.
- Turn the crown until the correct time is set. Once the setting is complete, push the crown back into its original position.
4. Screwing down the crown after adjustment
- After setting the time or date, screw the crown back in. To do this, gently press it toward the case while turning it clockwise.
- The crown should be tightened firmly, but without using excessive force.
- Correctly screwing down the crown is crucial to maintaining the water resistance of your watch.
5. Rotating bezel operation
- The Astra features a unidirectional ceramic bezel. It rotates only in one direction, a feature commonly found in sports and diving watches to track the passage of time.
- To use the bezel, align the bezel marker with the current position of the minute hand. As time passes, the minute hand displays how many minutes have passed since the bezel was positioned.
- The bezel rotates jerkily and may make a slight, distinctive clicking sound. This is normal and indicates that the mechanism is working properly.
- Do not use excessive force to turn the bezel. If you feel resistance, do not attempt to break it.
6. Contact with water
- Before any contact of the watch with water, make sure that the crown is screwed down properly.
- Do not unscrew or operate the crown underwater or when the watch is wet.
- After contact with seawater or chlorinated water, it is recommended to gently rinse the watch with clean water and then dry it with a soft cloth.
7. Adjusting the bracelet
- The Astra bracelet can be adjusted to fit your wrist by removing or adding links.
- Adjustments should be made using a suitable watchmaker's tool. If you are inexperienced, it is recommended to seek the assistance of a watchmaker to avoid scratching or incorrectly fitting the links.
- The bracelet should fit securely on the wrist, but not be too tight.
8. Accuracy of an automatic watch
- Automatic watches operate on a mechanical mechanism, so their accuracy may differ slightly from quartz or electronic watches.
- Minor time deviations are natural for this type of movement. The watch's performance can be affected by factors such as how it is worn, how well it is wound, temperature, and storage position.
9. Storage
- When not in use, it is best to store your watch in a dry and safe place, preferably in its original box.
- If your watch stops after a long period of non-use, simply wind it again or put it on your wrist to restart the mechanism.
10. Most important rules of use
- Always tighten the crown after each adjustment.
- Do not operate the crown underwater or on a wet watch.
- Do not change the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
- Do not wind your watch using excessive force.
- Only rotate the bezel in its natural direction of rotation.
- Avoid strong impacts, falls and contact with chemicals.
- Clean your watch with a soft microfiber cloth.
- Store your watch in a dry place when not in use.
